African wildlife such as waterbucks and impalas are residents of Tsavo East National Park with game drive. Day 2: Tsavo East – Mombasa

After an early wake up call, a morning safari game drive is experienced. A variety of African wildlife can be seen such as Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Zebras, Giraffes, Serval Cats, Antelopes, Kongoni, Lesser kudu, Oryx, Klipspringer, Impala, stripped Hyena, Ostriches, Gazelles, Buffalos and Elephants. There are many interesting aspects in the open areas of Tsavo East such as the Yatta Plateau, one of the world’s longest lava flows. An additional attraction is the Athi River flanked by stately Doum palms which, near the Manyani gate forms the Lugard’s Falls, a long stretch of rippling white water cataracts and a favorite haunt for sunbathing Crocodiles. Lugard’s Falls gush through a small fissure, narrow enough for the foolhardy to leap across, before dropping to Crocodile Point below, where the river changes its name to the Galana. Return to Satao Camp for breakfast. Check out from Satao Camp, returning to Mombasa drop-off at your Mombasa beach hotel early afternoon.

Day 3. Tsavo West – Mombasa/ Coast Hotel

Departing early from Mombasa our safari journey takes us via the Nairobi – Mombasa highway. Our journey includes a stop over en-route for breakfast and refreshments. We arrive in Tsavo West National Park mid-morning and commence game viewing en-route to our accommodations in the Park. After check-in, we freshen up and settle for a buffet lunch. We will proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive with a visit to the rhino sanctuary. We return to our Lodge or Camp for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Tsavo West – Amboseli

“The early bird catches the worm!” We test this old adage by embarking on an early pre-breakfast game and scenery viewing drive. Sunrise catches us with its splendor as the drama of the wild unfolds amid the freshness and beauty of the morning. We spectacle as the grazers and hunters move on unperturbed by our presence. We will head to the Mzima Springs where we view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish and a variety of bird species. The greenery surrounding the springs is a welcome contrast to the harsh terrain that forms the bulk of Tsavo West.

We will be back to our base for breakfast before joining our convoy on the onward journey to the Amboseli. The 140 km’s journey will be through jungle to arrive at our base in Amboseli in time for lunch. We will freshen up, enjoy our buffet lunch and while it away until late afternoon when we set out to explore the Amboseli. Afternoon game viewing drive in this open park. It is a leisurely activity with game easily seen and with the bulk of Kilimanjaro providing the back-drop for photography. Clouds may open up and the sight of the snow peaked Mt. Day 3: Amboseli – Mombasa

We will be early again! – The sunrise and emergence of the mountain peak from the clouds is dramatic. We will marvel at the vistas as we enjoy our breakfast. We will later depart the Amboseli with an en-route game viewing drive, bump it out to re-join the Nairobi – Mombasa highway and proceed to the Coast with a lunch stopover en-route. We will arrive in Mombasa in the late afternoon. Drop off at our respective hotels.

We depart from the Coast town of Mombasa for our inland safari journey via Mombasa – Nairobi highway. The 240 km, 4-hour journey through tarmac and gravel roads will have a break en-route with refreshments and bathroom facilities available. Our game drive will begin in Tsavo West National Park. We arrive at the lodge/camp in time for lunch. Late afternoon, we will venture out to the Rhino Sanctuary with some game viewing en-route. Animals to be seen here include buffalos, elephants, lions, cheetah, giraffes etc. As the sun sets we head back to our camp /lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tsavo West – Amboseli

Sun rise finds us ready and out for our pre-breakfast safari game drive trying to spot African wildlife. We will visit the Mzima Springs and explore on foot to see hippos under water, crocodiles, exotic fish, and tropical vegetation. On our safari drive this morning we shall also get to see many resident and migratory bird species. We return for breakfast then check out and proceed further south to the Amboseli National Park. The drive takes approximately 2 hours. Lunch in Amboseli, we relax before setting out for our afternoon safari game drive Amboseli is a relatively small park hence wildlife spotting is easy and fast. On a clear day we should be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro from a distance. We will return to our lodge/camp for meals and overnight.

Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo East

After an early breakfast in Amboseli, we depart by road with a game drive en-route to Tsavo East National Park. Our drive takes us through the farmlands of a local tribe called Kamba. We arrive in Tsavo East National Park in time for lunch followed by some free time before setting out on another game drive in the late afternoon. Tsavo East is known for excellent game viewing which include the big five…lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Dinner and overnight at Tsavo Wildlife Lodge or Voi Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Tsavo East – Mombasa
