Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara Safaris

A classic Nairobi safari to Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and the Masai Mara for an African wildlife safari of a lifetime. Lake Nakuru is home to many exotic bird species, and its shores are often filled with thousands upon thousands of flamingos, actually turning the shoreline pink.

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru

This morning we depart Nairobi by road and proceed to Lake Nakuru Park, regarded by avid birders’ as the greatest World ornithological spectacle on the Earth. Lake Nakuru is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining on the lake shore, arriving mid morning at Lake Nakuru for a game drive en–route before checking-in at your lodge for Lunch. A spectacular afternoon game run is planned.

Lake Nakuru is a Sanctuary to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe. Bird life include common species like the lesser and Greater Flamingoes, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans plus other intra- African Migrants. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion hill Lodge

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast we leave Lake Nakuru and drive through bucolic countryside to Lake Naivasha. Our destination is Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge/ Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge or Lake Naivasha country club. We arrive in time for lunch at our lodge by the lake and early afternoon, we take an optional boat ride. Alternatively, a nature walk at Crescent Island is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot. The Island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, Vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbuck and giraffe. Or you may wish to lounge by the pool admiring the view of zebras, Giraffes and waterbuck just outside the fence. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge or Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara

Depart Lake Naivasha for Maasai Mara Game Reserve–jewel of Kenya’s Game Park. This enormous Reserve actually part of the vast Serengeti plains is famously known for it’s spectacular great wildebeest migration and is a true home of the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape Buffalo.

Upon arrival, lunch will follow. After lunch, explore the reserve on a late evening wildlife safari game drive. In the evening, we relax around the camp/lodge fire before an excellent dinner. Overnight at your safari camp  or lodge in the Maasai Mara reserve.

Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Morning and afternoon safari game drives to see the abundant wildlife of the Maasai Mara. Large mammals are varied, abundant and easy to see. Residents among the Parks mammals are; Maasai Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Topi, both the Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles.

Hot Air Balloon rides are available on this day at an additional cost. You may also visit an authentic Maasai village to learn their culture and way of living. Dinner and overnight at your safari camp  or lodge in the Maasai Mara reserve.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Begin today with a complete English breakfast at your lodge, followed by a final safari game drive to see more African wildlife en–route to Nairobi.
