The Ark Lodge in Aberdares National
Park
Resembling and named after Noah's Ark, The Ark Lodge located
on the western slope of the Aberdares and is built adjacent to a
waterhole and salt lick.
 
The Ark comprises
three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide
superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker
provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you
closer than you would believe possible to the animals such as
elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive
bongo or giant forest hog.
 
The Ark consists of 60 cabin-style en-suite rooms. All cabins
have a private bathroom with shower and are comfortably
furnished to enjoy views of the forest or waterhole.
Cabins at the Ark in Aberdares can be are grouped as 9
triple-bedded state cabins, 37 twin-bedded state cabins, 6
single-bedded state cabins, 8 double-bedded state cabins, 1
courier (single bedded room, not en-suite)
 
Dinner, bed and breakfast are served 'on board' The Ark in
the main dining room. Located on one of the viewing decks is a
bar and lounge which remains open all night for tea and coffee.
