7 Days Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Samburu Safari - Kenya Road Safari from Nairobi

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Airport Pick-up by your driver/guide. Breakfast at a Nairobi hotel. Drive through the magnificent scenery of the great Rift Valley stopping briefly for refreshments and snacks at Narok. Arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive starts from 4pm. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Masai Mara

Game viewing extravaganza! Whatever pundits say, the Masai Mara eco-system remains the single most exciting wildlife destination in the world. The reserve is home to the highest concentration of wild animals per sq. km. than any other park in the region. Masai Mara game reserve is simply a one-stop shop for game viewing activities. We transverse the reserve on unlimited game viewing drives in search of the big five and more species of the lesser game. Our mid-day meals will either be picnics or at base.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

Last day in Masai Mara we start at dawn to catch the sunrise and the early hunters and grazers. We return to our base for breakfast. A mid-morning wrap-up drive followed by an early lunch. We depart Masai Mara and proceed to Lake Nakuru stopping briefly to view Lakes Naivasha and Elementaita. Arrival at our destination the late afternoon. Time permitting we do a short drive around the lake.

Day 4- Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast we head to the great Rift Valley passing through Narok where we make a quick stop for refreshments . Arrive at Lake Elementaita Lodge in time for lunch and a nap before taking off for our afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Elementaita Lodge.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Samburu

Today we visit Lake Nakuru National Park for a full day of game viewing. The lake is known as "the pink Lake" for the millions of flamingos that color the lake shore. More than 300,000 flamingos can be spotted at any one given time. Hundreds of thousand of flamingoes canopy the shallow edges of the lake while pelicans and hundreds of other bird species mingle. The adjacent park hosts both the black and white rhinos together with warthogs, antelopes, baboons and many more animal species.

We depart for Samburu game reserve on the most scenic and dramatic road journeys of our safari. Through the Rift Valley, past the highlands. Lunch will be at the Thomson Falls where we are soothed by the roaring of the waterfall. We proceed with our journey to arrive in Samburu in the late afternoon. Meals and overnight at the camp.

Day 5: Samburu

We spend our day at the Samburu game reserve. An early morning game drive starts off the day after which we return to our base for breakfast. Our drives will be concentrated along the Ewaso Nyiro River, which is the lifeline of this semi-arid park. As we search for game which includes the Oryx, the reticulated giraffe and the Gravy’s Zebra we also spot different species of birds. Meals and overnight at our camp.

Day 6: Samburu - Mount Kenya  - Nairobi -Mombasa

We depart Samburu after an early morning game drive and breakfast. Our journey will be through the arid areas, the highlands and on to Mt. Kenya where we stop for lunch at the base. Later we proceed to Nairobi, beauty takes over where wildlife left off with great views of tea, coffee and pineapple plantations to arrive in the afternoon.
